Miriam van de Laak

Miriam van de Laak is 53 years old and likes to do a lot of sports in her free time, such as swimming, windsurfing, cycling, yoga, dog walking and last, but not least, enjoying good food and drinks with friends.

Work experience

"In the past I have mainly worked in positions as a management assistant. The areas of finance and IT were important points of attention for these positions. Also because that was my personal interest. Almost 20 years ago I started a company in IT training and together with my twin sister I focused mainly on Cisco network training, but also communication training for ICT people. In recent years we have focused on the retraining market for people with a distance to the labor market.

Because we have provided training for all kinds of large, small and international organizations as well as for government agencies in the Netherlands, we have gained a lot of experience in setting up processes. Also administratively (I have always done the bookkeeping myself) I have gained a lot of experience with this and was able to actually put my Practical Diploma in Accounting into practice.

When my twin sister was forced to quit a few years ago, the spirit was gone for me. I then started building a new future as a freelance bookkeeper. I was looking for companies where I could use my broad international accounting experience and I found it with Tameson."

"I have now been working at Tameson for over a year and I have been able to systematically improve processes and layouts, what I love to do. From the past I am used to working completely independently, but at Tameson I have experienced collaboration again for a long time. And that is so nice and educational."
